EVERY NOW AND THEN (Ode For A Scrapbook) Sometimes pages block the vistas To the corners of the past, And every now and then I feel I turn the leaves too fast.
A look, a line, a lifelong bond We try hard not to sever, But every now and then I feel I've lost a friend forever.
It's no small trick, but still somewhy We seem to strive to capture What every now and then I feel Can conjure up lost laughter.
And in its way and shape and time My time is not alone. For every now and then, I feel, Is something like my own.
